Negative Double – used through 2 ♠
The negative double, aka Sputnik, is a conventional double used to show 4+ suit by responder after opener bids one suit and the opponent has made a suit overcall. The double always promises 6+ points at level 1 bid and 8+ points at level 2 bid. Some examples below:
